The idea

A river stone, drawn at wall scale.

Maria Velichkova draws each Pebble from a river stone turned in the hand, keeping the flat resting edge low and letting the contour rise unevenly to one side. The halo follows that contour from behind, so what the eye reads at night is the outline of the stone and not the glass.

ZAVEL Reflection Index · RI 04

How Pebble changes a room.

Primary reflection behavior

Softens architecture

Its rounded contour, flat at the base, softens the straight lines of a counter and its niche while the halo lifts the silhouette off the wall.

Recommended viewing distance
0.8 to 3 m
Reflected field
Upright and rounded, head and shoulders edged by its own halo
Natural light
Side light from a window, with its own halo supplying the rest
Wall conditions
A quiet wall with at least 100 cm clear width above a counter or console
Visual weight
Light
Rooms
Dressing room, Entryway, Living room

Frameless glass reads as reflection rather than object, and the uneven shoulder keeps it from settling into a shape.

Installation

Needs a wall of at least 100 by 130 cm.

Fix the rear batten into solid blocking with the flat base level, and have a qualified electrician connect the driver to a switched supply. Leave 25 cm clear between the base and a counter top.

Care

Dust with a soft dry cloth and clean the glass as any mirror glass. Keep moisture away from the rear edge, where the LED halo and its driver sit.

LITHOS holds the same halo on a straight lower edge, spread wide, for the counter that wants a level line.
